Dent REmoval Services
Every Dent different in its own way; depending upon Vehicle, location, type of metal, and health of Paint. This is a Guide to go on general minimum pricing. All dents on roofs, Roof Rails, and lesser accesssible areas; such as the tops of Doors, or blocked by Intrusion beams, will carry higher and more strict pricing.
Most PDR services are Mobile, but some may Require Shop-Booking.
Dings
$40
General sizing of a “Ding” is less than an inch total, roughly the size of a Dime (10 cent piece). Multiple dings in the same Panel will be discounted.
Most vehicles hide more Dings, than you may initially see. If we spot extra “Dings” that can be easily and quickly removed, they will be done free of charge. However, “Dings” on the Roof of a vehicle will always be priced Individually, due to the time they tend to take.
Difficulties can arise depending on Area and Accesss of dings. Some sharper dings without access may not be able to fully remove. And Dings at the top of a door tend to have less access, and dings in the middle of a door can be blocked by door-intrusion beams.
Dents
starting at $60
General sizing of a “Dent” is about 2inches or less total, roughly the size of a Quarter (25cent piece). Multiple dents within similar size and access in the same Panel will be discounted.
Dents tend to really attract the Eye more than Dings. One Dent may help hide smaller dings on the car; simply by calling more attention. As Dents are removed, smaller dings sometimes become more noticeable, and can be taken out free of charge, if easily accessible. Dents on Roofs will always be individually priced with lesser discounts, as they are more difficult and may not fully remove.
Difficulties can arise depending on Area and Accesss. Missing Paint, Rust, or prior touch-up can hinder Dent Removal; as the metal no longer moves the same.
Advanced Dents
starting at $80
Dents larger than 2inches, including sideways Crease dents and Dents deep enough to catch the finger or hold water like spoons are priced Individually, and can require much more work.
Accompanying Dings and Dents can be Discounted within the Same Panel, but can slightly add to the pricing as they increase the overall sizing of the dent.
Difficulties can come from the depth of these types of larger dents. sometimes they are so deep that the metal is stretched, and the dent cannot be fully repaired. Missing Paint, Rust, Prior Touch-up can all hinder the accuracy of Larger dent repair. Since larger dents tend to occur near tension points, some access may be blocked and require access holes to be drilled, to fully remove larger dents.
BodyLine Dents
starting at $120
“Bodyline Dents” are some of the most common Dents on Vehicles, and can be difficult to Repair. They can usually be felt via a break or gap in the car’s bodyline.
Bodyline Dents will always be priced individually and any other dents nearby will be Add-On pricing, unless “Dings” with easy access. ONLY “Ding” sized dents will be discounted within same panel.
Bodylines require multiple angles of attack and more force to push out. Depending on where the Bodyline is. And Difficulties can arise on cars with “laminated Glass”, also known as “Safety Glass”, “Security Glass”, or “Accoustic Glass”. This type of glass is prone to cracking during PDR repair and We will NOT risk damaging it, so an Accesss hole will be required in most cars with “Laminated Glass”.
Crowned Bodyline Dents
starting at $160
A “Crown” is a “Lump”, usually above or Below a hard impact point. “Crowns” tend to happen near larger “Bodyline Dents”, from the force of Impact; as a “bodyline” is one of the strongest parts of a car panel, it resists the dent and the metal has to go ‘Somewhere’… The “Crown” is usually Holding Tension, and the Dent cannot be moved, until the crown is carefully Hammered down.
Bodyline Dents with Crowns are Much Stronger dents, and far more difficult to remove. They will always be Priced Alone, and additional dents Added-On.
Many Dent technicians may Pass on these types of Dents, due to the added Difficulty and complexity of the Accompanying “Crown”. If not done right, Hammering the crown can cause more damage through inexperience.
Creases
starting at $180
Creases are some of the absolute Most common and Most difficult Dents to remove. As easy to aquire as driving against or past something; they require absolute focus, dexterity, and stamina to remove. A crease is an eye sore, but it can be unfolded back into a flat panel with time and Patience.
Creases will always be priced alone, based on Length, depth, and size. The shorter more shallow ones start at this pricing and go up with length, depth, and size. They can be deep enough to spread inches wide and long enough to go across multiple panels; and will be priced according to difficulty and access.
nearby dents within the panel will be discounted, as they provide a break from the tedium of crease repair. but creases can be Difficult to repair when they cut across non accessible areas of a panel, and may require multiple angles of attack, as well as an access hole. They may also require Wetsanding and “cutting” of the clearcoat to properly level and finish a repair.
Sealed Rail Dents
Generally $200
The area at the sides of the Roof is referred to a “Roof Rail” and is a sealed tube with an extra structure inside, for rigidity and crush protection. Sometimes these areas cannot be accessed inside, even when drilling an access hole; during these instances, glue pulling becomes the only option, and the Result of the repair can be limited.
These Repairs will cost more or less than this General price, depending on the amount of dents, sizes, and depth.
Sometimes Sealed Rail Dents cannot be Repaired in the case of bodyline smashes on edges, and generally already have paint damage from the tension of these areas; making glue Pulling risky to attempt. Some Sealed Rail Dents cannot be Repaired with PDR, only Improved.
Machine Gun dents
starting at $250
You will know this type of damage when you see it; a tommy-gun line of dents, usually in a row across a panel. This can also include multiple Bodyline Dents, and they will be priced generally around this pricing.
These take patience and focus, as each dent tends to blend into the next; and the resulting repair may not always be perfect and can be wavy, but with patience and time, a skilled technician can blend a full repair of these dents into a uniformly smooth panel.
Difficulties can arise depending on access and Area, with multiply bodyline dents being the most difficult if “Crowns” accompany them.
bodyline Smashes
starting at $300
A bodyline “Smash” is much like a bodyline Dent, but Larger. This is when the bodyline is smushed down to the point of it becoming almost flattened or ‘pancaked’. These dents can go fully across a panel and require a great amount of strength, patience, and dexterity to repair. The larger the area, the higher the cost; especially if there is “Crowning” involved around the dent.
These are rare, and it takes a special type of driving to acquire them, but they can be helped. While they may not always be able to be Fully Repaired, as the Bodyline may never fully recieve enough pushes to put it back to it’s original height; they can be made to look like a “hit” never occured there.
Difficulties can arise depending on space inside of the damaged Area, as some Bodyline Smashes tend to collapse the outer skin against the inner panel. They tend to take much more time and may only end up looking as good as a bodyshop repaint in the end. Discounts can be given if we do not achieve a perfect result.
Bumpers and Miscellaneous dents
starting at $300
including automatic rear Hatch hits, lumpy roofs, and plastic bumper hits
The latter of which, Plastic has to be treated differently than metal and takes more time to move, usually involving heating up, moving, and holding until cooled.
These types of works are often more time consuming and less ergonomically viable. Sometimes the Finished Result is only an improvement. Areas around Sunroofs may not be able to be fully Repaired on Roofs. Full Panel Damage may require Shop-Booking and vehicle drop-off, to ensure adequate time and Focus for Best Results.
Creases through Bodylines
starting at $400
A Crease is a Crease is a Crease, is a Crease… until it shoots through a bodyline. These are the utmost Worst of Bodyline Dents and Creases all in one. The require the absolute Top Skill to be removed. This can also involve Curve Creases and non-straight creases; which require a certain finesse to properly repair.
These are very Tough and will always be priced alone. they may have Difficult Crowns and Odd shapes. Knowing exactly how the Dent was caused can aide in the Repair.
Heavy and more Complex examples of these types of creases, may require Shop-Booking and vehicle drop-off.
Hail Damage
starting at $500 per Panel
The King of all Dent Damage, caused by Large Ice Storms. Rare in Florida, but can happen. Hail will be Priced Per a panel and may take Days to Complete. PDR is the best way to repair Hail Damage, as a putting too much body filler on a roof will inevitably lead to cracking in the sun; So smoothing the area out with PDR before painting can offer a showroom finish once again.
Sometimes hail can be an insurance claim, and done through a customer’s insurance company.
Shop-Booking and Vehicle Drop-off Required. Difficulties can arise from the sheer number of dents, often in the Hundreds to Thousands. And dents almost always occur where there is tension on the metal, so many hail dents can be in Non-Accessible Areas; further complicating the Repair. in some cases, it may still require a Bodyshop to respray paint to achieve a smooth finish, adding to pricing.
